O’s Notes: This is the quartet’s follow-up recording to 2007’s highly regarded If We Should Ever Meet Again. They again present a strong program, a mix of originals, standards and pop covers. This includes James Brown’s “I Feel Good/Stolen Moments”, “McCoy”, “I Can’t Help Falling In Love” and “Soultrane” featuring Azar Lawrence on sax. The Skipper (b) leads the melody on “I Fall In Love Too Easily” demonstrating his versatility. This is a jazzy CD with something for everyone.
