O’s Notes: Tom Lippincott is a jazz guitarist and composer from Hollywood, CA. He leads a band with David Fernandez (sax), Marty Quinn (b), Lucas Apostoleris (d), and Camila Meza (vocals). Ode to the Possible is a throwback album that reimagines jazz-fusion from the 1980s from Lippincott’s perspective. The theme is greatly varied but centered around Lippincott. “Bell Tower”, “An Inhabitant of Carcosa”, “Stella By Searchlight”, “Lynchian”, and the interludes are a some of the best.
