O’s Notes: This is a new all-star foursome playing fresh jazz-fusion. Lo is Joe Lovano (sax); Sco is guitarist John Scofield; Ho is bassist Dave Holland and Fo is Al Foster on drums. Each musician is very accomplished. They play eleven new songs and share the writing duties. We particularly liked “Bittersweet”, “Brandyn” and “Shorter Form”. It’s a new foursome pushing the envelope.
