O’s Notes: Drummer Jimmy Jackson has played all types of music: Soul, R&B, and all across the Jazz Rulerª. For this session he revisits an inspiring 1961 session featuring Cannonball Adderley and Nancy Wilson. In addition to keeping time, we also hear JuneBug scatting and singing on six tracks notably “The Old Country” and “On My Way Home”, bluesy tunes. George Sessems gives us a cool base solo on “Never Will I Marry”, a real swinger. They cap it with a live recording of “Save Your Love For Me” featuring Herman Riley on sax.
