O’s Notes: There’s a spacey, futuristic feel on the opener “Ahfufat” that is pervasive throughout the session. Jeff leads the action on violin with Nels Cline (g), Alex Cline (d), Joel Hamilton (b) and David Witham (p) fleshing out the band. “Solflicka” is our favorite track as it fits more into the mainstream of fusion but we also liked “Rina Pt. I”. The mysterious “Water Torture” has detail and focus that draws the listener in like a cinema soundtrack. That focus is a large part of Jeff’s game and it makes his music stand out.
