O’s Notes: Albare plays guitar and lives in the spirit of globalization. He was born in Morocco, grew up in Israel and France then moved to Australia at 27 where he resides today. His band consists of bassist Yunior Terry, pianist Axel Tosca Laugart and Pablo Bencid on drums. Phil Turcío plays piano on “Hotel Royal” and co-composed many of the selections with Albare. This is the first release on Alfi Records and it is a notable debut. The music is immediately embraceable contemporary jazz that sticks and is repeatable without fatigue.
