O’s Notes: Ortiz presents his latest compositions in a quartet with guitarist David Gilmore, Rashaan Carter on bass and drummer Eric McPherson. They include several covers to accentuate the mood, mostly electric fusion with lead lines coming from Gilmore, Ortiz or both. They race though syncopated passages slowing down only long enough to refuel. This is Orbiting.
