O’s Notes: Dr. Clare Fischer has 65 years under his belt as a composer, arranger and keyboardist teams up with his son, director Brent Fischer (mallet instruments, b, keyboards) to make Pacific Jazz, a collection of freshly arranged classics and original tunes. Clare’s large ensemble includes a large woodwind section that balances the brass and gives this big band a powerful, warm sound. Bob Sheppard (ts), Gary Foster (as), Carl Saunders (t) and Scott Whitfield (tb) are among the many talented musicians on the set. Just sit back and let the music blow through!
