O’s Notes: Italian drummer, composer Giuseppe Paradiso is based in Boston where he leads Meridian 71, a world, jazz-fusion band. Parallel Dimensions is a musical interpretation of differing views of the same events, seemingly more pronounced over the last 24 months. Paradiso’s music has an exotic sound with an abundance of percussion. The band includes Phil Sargent (g), Utar Artun (keyboards), James Hazlewood-Dale (b), Malick Ngom (d, perc) and Mark Zaleski (s-sax, b-cl) . Highlights are “Kaizen”, “Joriki”, “It’s Only The Beginning” and the title track.
