O’s Notes: The Technocrats are a septet led by bass trombonist, producer Chris Glassman, Nathan Borton (g) and Javier Enrique (b), with Walter Blanding (sax), Skylar Tang (t), Bryn Roberts (p), and Keith Hall (d). All the music is composed by co-producer Gregg Hill, ten jazz-fusion selections. Borton and Blanding deliver rolling solos on “Not Van Morrison”, and Glassman and Tang follow with strong melodies on “Nostalgia”. We also enjoyed” Horse Feathers”, “Double Play”, “Technocrats”, and the title track.
