O’s Notes: Hailey Niswanger is a saxophonist, composer and bandleader possessed with an incredible a mound of good old fashioned R&B funk. Her band is packed with talent including keyboardist Janice Scroggins, producer Thara Memory (t, vocals), AG Donnaloia (g) and co-producer Errick Lewis on bass. They play a good mix of instrumentals and vocals with excellent retakes of R&B classics like “Yes I’m Ready” and “Let A Woman Be A Woman Let A Man Be A Man” along with several original funky, energetic tracks like “I’m Gone” and “Say What”. PDX is the airport code for Portland and after listening to this set we know there is an abundance of Soul emanating from the Northwest corner of the USA at least from Hailey Niswanger!
