O’s Notes: Drummer Joe DeRose leads a jazz-fusion quintet with guitarist Hristo Vitchev, Dann Zinn (sax), Murray Law (keys) and Dan Robbins (b). DeRose wrote and arranged all twelve tunes with help from Vitchev on four selections. Joe is a Berklee graduate but moved back to his native San Jose where he teaches drums along with performing jazz-fusion. His music is punchy with catchy riffs. Peace Streets continues a successful collaboration with Vitchev to the light of contemporary jazz fans.
