O’s Notes: Jeff Lorber is one of those contemporary jazz artists that warrant a purchase of their music prior to listening. Philly Style won’t disappoint old or new fans. It’s urban funk laced with today’s beats. The title track is an excellent example, it has smooth groove with a James Brown type bridge. “Laissez Faire” and “Step On It” are a couple of tunes to get your head bobbing. This set is good for listening, winding up or winding down!
