O’s Notes: Israeli saxophonist and composer Omer Leshem now makes his home in Brooklyn where he’s honing his skills on the New York jazz scene. He assembles a fine band with Nadav Remez (g), Moshe Elmakias (p), Elam Friedlander (b), and Ben Silashi (d) for Play Space. Leshem delivers warm melodies throughout notably on “David’s Devastating Journey” and “The Heroic Era of No Consequences”. We also liked “Capetown Swag”, “Pull The Donkey”, “Take An Advil”, the peaceful finale, “Back Home”.
