O’s Notes: The fusion music of Miles Davis is among the most creative and inspirational of all of his works. It was created during 1967-1975. Drummer Gerry Gibbs is among the many people who appreciate it so it comes as no surprise that this double album was recorded. In fact, Gibbs produced enough material for four discs! So don’t be surprised if there is an encore. But this volume includes 26 selections based on 16 of Miles’ classics. There are times of chaos and an abundance of renewed creativity. We found gems on both discs notably “Black Satin”, “What I Say”, “In Concert” and “Pinocchio”.
