O’s Notes: Australian guitarist and composer Nic Vardanega is now based in New York where he produced“Point In Time, a seven-song set of jazz-fusion. Nick’s quartet includes Michael Rodriguez (t, flugelhorn), Jakob Dreyer (b) and Josh Roberts (d). The music is insightful and more than expected for a sophomore effort. The feeling is mellow with rich melodies from both Vardanega and Rodriguez.
