O’s Notes: Los Angeles-based trumpeter and composer Dan Rosenboom assembles a diverse band for his latest release, Polarity. The music is edgy, jazz fusion with a solid bottom end courtesy of bassist Billy Mahler and drummer Damien Reid. Gavin Templeton plays sax with John Escreet handling all keyboards. All of the music is original including two songs composed by the collective: “The Age of Snakes” with a cool beat that morphs into an eerie tilt, and the adventurous vibe of “Tidal Mirror”. We also enjoyed the mellow “Walking Shadows”, and the racy “Minotaur”.
