O’s Notes: This is one of Bill’s classic recordings on Riverside. It’s been re-released in SACD to optimize the sound for today’s audiences. It came in 1959 at the dawn of his acceptance as one of the premier jazz pianists of the time. He reworks classic tunes like “Autumn Leaves”, “Someday My Prince Will Come” and “Blue In Green” with sweet melodic arrangements that would form his character.
