O’s Notes: Singer, keyboardist, Lisa Sokolov has an abundance of energy. It surfaces on the opener – the title track, and this intensity builds throughout the set. We begin to really hear her talent on “Hopefully”, a 2 minute solo effort packed with emotion that is wildly spontaneous yet controlled. Lisa fully immerses herself into the songs bringing meaning to each of the songs. She gives a different meaning to songs like “Chain of Fools” and “Home on the Range” attaching her signature and pushing it to the limit. The rhythm section is cool but there’s no doubt that jazz singer Sokolov is in charge. We’d definitely like to catch her live to feel the vibe.
