O’s Notes: Project Trio is Greg Pattillo (fl), Eric Stephenson (cello) and Peter Seymour (b). They play cool jazz-fusion using acoustic instrumentation. Pattillo works his flute into a percussive instrument along with the taps of the cello and bass, we don’t miss the drums. They composed eight of the selections and breathed new life into two covers, especially “Blue Rondo a la Turk”. Highlights are “Dr. Nick”, “City of Dreams” with vocal poetry from Mark Guararie and “Grass” with a dose of bluegrass. This is different stuff, a new and welcomed approach!
