O’s Notes: Chick’s signature sound is playful, frolicking, pleasant and at times has a Latin feel. His work on ECM spans 1972-1984 as Return To Forever, the Chic Corea/Gary Burton Duo, and the Corea/Vitous/Haynes trio. Somehow Chick always seems to extract the most from his piano and along with his fellow musicians, they make small ensembles sound like an orchestra. Listening to this collection was fun.
