O’s Notes: This release chronicles vibraphonist Gary Burton’s evolution at ECM from 1972 – 1987. During this period he recorded in bands of four to six people including such talent as Abe Laboriel (b), Steve Swallow (b), Pat Metheny (g) and Makoto Ozone (p). It’s a nice synopsis of Gary’s development along with that of East Coast jazz-fusion.
