O’s Notes: There’s a Mid-Eastern flavor to these five jazz-fusion selections (less than 30 minutes). Tunisian born Khemir is prominent with lead melodies on guitar and lute throughout the set notably on “Hkaya”. The band comes together nicely on “Nadam” with bassist Nabil Wright adding a strong solo then trading with drummer Hichem Mazgou. Sami Ben Said steps up with a synthesizer solo on “Gitane”. We liked their groove. It’s fresh.
