O’s Notes: The University of Toronto 12TET is another fine ensemble from their school of music. We also enjoyed the jazz big band. The 12TET is directed and produced by Terry Promane who also composed one of the six selections. Laura Swankey sings “September In The Rain” the line vocal track. They play solid rhythms, with excellent tone and a minimal amount of congestion that places them among the best university bands. Tenor saxophonist Landen Vieira is one to watch! Rebirth is an enjoyable listening experience.
