O’s Notes: Yotam Silberstein is a young Israeli guitarist making his second album as a leader. He burst onto the jazz scene in New York in 2007 with the poise of a seasoned veteran. Yotam surrounds himself with top talent forming a quartet with Christian McBride (b), Aaron Goldberg (p) and Gregory Hutchinson (d). They cook from the opener “Two Bass Hit” and never let up! Silberstein plays a silky lead on “Daahoud” which features guest trumpeter Roy Hargrove. There are several mellow tines as well including “The Most Beautiful Girl” and “Mamacita”, again with Hargrove. Yotam composed five of the eleven tracks as well mist notably “Blewz”. He is on track!
