O’s Notes: This album is a marriage of baroque and jazz, revisiting Lalo’s 1966 renaissance album, Tribute to Marquis de Sade. The all new material intertwines tasteful touches from the classical masters with jazz improvisation from Schifrin on harpsichord and piano, Brian Bromberg (b), Jeff Hamilton (d) and Tom Scott (sax, flute). The results are pleasing to both jazz and classical fans without offending either.
