O’s Notes: This Brazilian trio is Jorge Luis Albuquerque (b), Marcos Amorim (g) and Rafael Barata (d) playing in their debut recording. Jorge and Marcos each contribute five originals to the session. The music is warm and relaxed with the spirit of Rio DeJaneiro alive and well. There is an element of mild fusion on “Afternoon In Handy” courtesy of Amorim. The blend of fusion with Barata’s Brazilian beats helps define the soothing character of Landscapes. “Sea Party” and “Salsa” were our favorite tracks.
