O’s Notes: Vocalist Mafalda Minnozzi has a passion for Brazilian music and does a fine job interpreting these classics on Riofonic. She has delicate, youthful tone that defines her signature sound and shares the stage with many formidable guests notably special guest Roberto Menescal (vocals, acoustic g). Other core musicians are Paul Ricci (g), Kassin (b), Jorge Helder (b), and Joao Cortez (d). We liked “Telefone”, “Rio”, “Só Danço Samba”, and “O Barquinho” in a rich set of fourteen songs including a couple of originals and four composed by Menescal and Ronaldo Bôscoli.
