O’s Notes: Allen Vizzutti plays trumpet, arranged and composed most of the music for Ritzville. The musicians appearing are a wonderful crew making this a dream come true for Allen. Chick Corea (p) and Stanley Clarke (b) lead the list of star performers. Lamont Van Hook adds vocals on “I Don’t Know”, the lone cover. A Seattle-based String section brings depth to a recording that is absent of sampling, loops and sequencers. The program consists of a warm collection of fresh contemporary jazz. We listened to the album many times and never grew tired of it!
