O’s Notes: This session gets better with each track! Simone’s voice is rich and well suited to the romantic ballads she sings. Her band includes the established musicians Eric Alexander on sax, drummer Tim Horner and bassist George Mraz while newcomer John di Martino (p) makes a strong statement as well. Kopmajer takes a minimalist approach and lets her talent speak. It is a worthy effort.
