O’s Notes: Australian born Lisa Parrott has been living in the US for 20 years now and she bills Round Tripper as a dedication to her homeland. There is an abundance of passion coming through the brass on this recording. Both Lisa (saxophones) and Nadje Noordhuis (t, flugelhorn) do a wonderful job on the ballads. Parrott breathes rich tone through her baritone sax on “Um A Zero” shadowed by Aussie guitarist Carl Dewhurst. First call bassist Chris Lightcap and drummer Matt Wilson anchor the quintet thorough eight songs including originals by Parrott and Dewhurst.
