O’s Notes: Verneri Pohjola (t) leads a free fusion quartet with Sami Sippola (sax), Ville Rauhala (b) and Simo Laihonen (d). All of them are Finnish jazz musicians. This is no holds barred open improvisation. They gasp, squeak, squawk and simmer. Things are a bit more orderly when the pace slows down but Rubidium is an edgy effort that gives us a peak into the minds of some the musicians.
