O’s Notes: Pianist Frank Kimbrough leads a trio with Mada Kamaguchi (b) and Jeff Hirshfield (d). His graceful playing on “Hope”, “Forsythia” and “For Andrew” was very relaxing. Jeff and Frank play counter rhythms on “Sure As We’re Here” and “Over” making for an intriguing landscape. The mix warm ballads with more eclectic, almost Avant Garde selections give this program a Jeckl & Hyde character. The sound quality and musical techniques are excellent leading to a satisfactory experience.
