O’s Notes: Professor Joe Mulholland teaches at the Berklee College of Music and also performs regularly at The Top of The Hub in Boston. He is a formidable pianist and composer and leads a trio with bassist Bob Nieske and Bob Tamagni on drums for his fourth album Runaway Train. Mulholland is inspired by his students and jazz legends alike and we hear both influences over the nine selections, a good set of modern jazz.
