O’s Notes: Urso (sax) and Saunders (t) Salute Chet Baker playing eleven of his recorded tunes. Phil played with Baker on and off for over 12 years admiring and adopting his melodic improvisation. This session swings nicely with that West Coast cool bop sound. Both Urso and Saunders play from the heart complementing each other well. The mood is right and execution well done on the debut recording for producer Graham Carter’s new jazz label.
