O’s Notes: This time out the University band invites drummer Jeff Hamilton to join them. The focus is the music of Woody Herman to commemorate his 100th birthday. Jeff anchored the Woody Herman Orchestra and brings the element of swing to DUJE. The selections vary in tempo with rich layers ballads to swinging upbeat tines that extract to most out of the musicians. Director Bob Lark continues to present a first class band that produces an enjoyable effort.
