O’s Notes: Divahn is an all female ensemble featuring lead singer Galeet Dardashti. This is Middle Eastern music and instrumentation with a festive vibe that’ combines traditional Jewish songs with jazzy improvisations. We enjoyed “Bane Choshech” and “Khazan” most in the set of nine vibrant selections. While we did not understand the lyrics we certainly appreciated the passion and the tonal quality as it was well integrated with the percussion drums and strings.
