O’s Notes: Trombonist, composer, and band leader Naomi Moon Siegel’s latest release serves two purposes. First the acclamation to western Montana after living in metropolitan USA. Secondly Shatter The Glass Sanctuary serves as an expression of emotions based on reality. The band is a sextet including Ray Larsen (t) and Andy COE (g). The chaotic “Sabotage” and “The Adventures of Violet & Pilot” stand out on Side A. We preferred the provocative title suite (Side B), especially “Breathe In” featuring bassist Kelsey Mines, “Tethered” and “Shatter It”.
