O’s Notes: This is another CTI classic featuring trumpeter Chet Baker at the height of his career in 1974. He is surrounded by incredible talent including Ron Carter (b), Paul Desmond (sax), Bob James (p), Jack DeJohnnette (d) and Hubert Laws (fl). It is tough to lose with that team and they shine on all eight tracks. Among the best are “Funk In Deep Freeze”, “Tangerine” and “What I’ll Do”. Baker also sings on a few songs, notably the title track.
