O’s Notes: Shana Tucker is a fresh voice on the jazz scene as a vocalist and cellist. She composed all of the songs on this self-produced effort except a couple of classic covers. The music will appeal to contemporary pop audiences as well as lovers of modern jazz ballads. The vocal harmonies are sweet as is her tone on cello. Tucker excels on the ballads like “Lazy Afternoon” and “Just A Moment”, a simple pairing with pianist Eric Hirsh. She surprised us with the cool, funky beats of “No Get Back” strutting her stuff while resisting a rerun relationship! Shana impressed us on shine and leaves us anxious for more!
