O’s Notes: Hans Ulrik (sax) has assembled an allstar foursome with John Scofield (g) Peter Erskine (d) and Lars Danielsson (b). He not only employs their instrumental prowess but also their writing skills. The resulting music alternates between funky upbeat songs and cooler mellow fusion. We preferred Ulrik’s “About Things” and Scofield’s “Green Tea” Shortcuts is a winner all the way through.
