O’s Notes: We listened to this at least four times before we picked up the pen. That is a sure sign of a winner! Pianist Frank Harrison leads a trio with Davide Petrocca on bass and drummer Stephen Keogh. They make even overworked standards like “Autumn Leaves” sound good with fresh arrangements. Harrison includes three originals dispersed among three standards and classics making Sideways a worthy addition to any collection.
