O’s Notes: Swedish guitarist Andreas Oberg plays jazz-fusion with a wide variety of seasonings on this effort. It is collaboration with a fine set of musicians including John Patitucci (b), Lewis Nash (d), Dave Kikoski (p) and John Beasley (keyboards, vibes). They open with the Latin infused “Papa Gato” before Oberg displays his chops on “Madame Grenouille”, a burner. “From The Bottom of My Heart” puts us in a mellow mood before Filo Machado sings “Amar a Maria”. Oberg puts a fusion spin on “Compares to What” and then reflects on “Dawn Ballad”, an original composition. This is an enjoyable session.
