O’s Notes: Guitarist Jeff Richman assembles a seasoned quartet with drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, George Whitty on keyboards and bassist/producer Jimmy Haslip. This is a great contemporary jazz fusion album incorporating special guests Bob Mintzer (sax) and Taylor Eigsti (p) for a couple of songs each notably “Hangtown” and “Sweet”. “Just 4U” has a cool funky vibe featuring Mitchell Forman on the Fender Rhodes and “Oracle” captures the vibe of vintage Weather Report featuring Jeff Beal on flugelhorn. There’s definitely a lot of“Sizzle“as Jeff covers a lot of ground.
