O’s Notes: Rita sings a sweet sixteen classic ballads starting with “Dindi” and “Body and Soul” with Ricky Woodard on tenor sax behind her. Joel Scott (p), James Leary (b) and Quintin Denard (d) keep things flowing nicely throughout the set. Edmond stretches her voice like the lead vocalist in a good gospel choir. She sings these tunes with confidence standing in the spotlight. Her vocals, Ricky’s sax and the selection of classics make this a winner.
