O’s Notes: Bassist, composer and producer Eric Revis serves up a dose of free, funky, syncopated jazz-fusion for his latest release, Slipknots Through A Looking Glass. Revis is at the core of most of it, prominently on the 3-Part title track, but he also engages his team effectively. The music is provocative but not fully chaotic. Evidence the warm ballad “When I Become Nothing” serving as the calm before the storm of “Vimen”. “Baby Renfroe” and the mysterious “Earl & The Three-Fifths Compromise” are our favorites.
