O’s Notes: The North is pianist Romain Collins, bassist Shawn Conley and Abe Lagrimas on drums. The musicians started as friends: Romain from France, Shawn And Abe from Hawaii. Their love for music sparked a bond that evolved into the band. Their music is a mix of originals (4 by Collins and 2 by Conley) with four covers. The predominant groove is a soft fusion. The pace quickens on “Humpty Dumpty” one of the best of the lot along with “Blowing’ In The Wind” and “Join Us Jackson” a ballad.
