O’s Notes: Wayne Horvitz is a keyboardist, composer and producer of Some Places Are Forever Afternoon. It is a collection of music inspired by the works of the late American poet Richard Hugo written mostly with a Northwestern theme. While the music has no lyrics, Horvitz successfully conveys the relaxed feelings one gets when reading the poems or traveling around Montana and Washington! The music is a soft fusion that has an old western feel presented by a well tuned septet. Sara Schoenbeck (bassoon), Peggy Lee (cello), Tim Young (g), Keith Lowe (b) and Eric Eagle (d) join Horvitz to bring a segment of American history to life through music.
