O’s Notes: Gavin (alto sax) takes us into his space, sometimes blazing and on the edge but always in control. It is a unique session with solid work by drummer Gene Coye and bassist Richard Giddens especially on “Secrets”. We truly enjoyed both takes of “Exit Row” as this trio made music much larger than three musicians. There is indeed music in these melodies.
