O’s Notes: We can’t say enough about Houston Person, the ever-present saxophonist who breathes warm notes into everything he touches. Person releases a new album at least annually and ages like the best fine wines. Lewis Nash (d), Ray Drummond (b), James Chirillo (G) John Di Martino (p) and Steve Nelson (vibes) round out the experienced band. Person doesn’t waste notes. What he plays is meaningful and enlightening. No matter which album you pick of Houston’s, they are all very good and so too is Something Personal!
